Meet Travelmarvel Tour Director - Rory Kerr

In this article, discover why Rory loves the different world views guests share on tour, at times with hilarious results!

Rory lives between Vancouver and Houston when he's not on the road with Travelmarvel. He loves the connectivity of travel and the different world views guests share on tour, at times, with hilarious effect!

How long have you worked for Travelmarvel and what's your favourite thing about the company?
I have been working for Travelmarvel for three years. The company treats employees extremely well and I love how organised they are with everything including schedules for tours and tour documents.

What does your job entail and what do you love most about it?
We provide unforgettable holidays for passengers in Western Canada and Alaska. I love getting to know the guests and building a community with them throughout their holiday experience.

What has been your favourite on-tour moment?
It has to be some of the funny moments out on the road. One that comes to mind was on the iconic Icefields Parkway in Alberta. The road is through spectacular mountains, glaciers and lakes. There is also an abundance of wildlife along the way; elk, bears, moose and more. But I, and several other passengers, thought it was hilarious when an Australian shouted out, "stop the bus"! It turned out it was for a squirrel!

What does travel mean to you?
Travel is about connection
, whether that is connecting with those that you are travelling with, the people you are visiting, the environment you are surrounded by, the food you eat, or the music you hear. These connections help to expand our views of the world.

What destination is 'calling' you?
Destinations I'd like to visit next are Japan, Mongolia, Argentina, Georgia, and back to Uganda to see gorillas in the wild.
